Do mental subtraction quickly!

When subtracting, we want to avoid the carrying over of numbers so that we can solve it mentally. Try it with your tuition teacher.

We are going to use the same trick that we used for solving addition problems and subtract from left to right.
E.g)    664  - 453

Step 1: Group the numbers into hundreds, tens, and ones
i.e. 664 (600 + 60 + 4) – 453 (400 + 50 +3)

Step 2: Going from left to right, subtract the hundreds
             600 – 400 = 200

Step 3: Now subtract the tens
            60 – 50 = 10

Step 4: Now subtract the ones
            4 – 3 = 1

Step 5:  Now add all your answers together
             200 + 10 + 1 =  211
